The 18th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2021), the 8th Children and Adolescent Science Congress 2021 and the reception and award distribution of the winners of the Women in Science Advancement were held at the National Science and Technology Complex on March 27, 2022, on the eve of Independence Day. The event was organized by the National Museum of Science and Technology and the Bangladesh Science Popularization Association.
Architect Yafes Osman, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Senior Curator of National Museum of Science and Technology; AKM Lutfar Rahman Siddiqui and prominent science writer and educator Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Mr. Munir Hasan, Vice President of Bangladesh Science Popularization Association were present on the occasion.
As the chief guest at the event, the Minister of Science and Technology, Architect Yafes Osman, said that a concerted effort is needed for development. If men and women work together, the country will definitely move forward.
Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was also present at the ceremony. At the Science Congress, he said, young children happily do research in science. I do not want to be deprived of this joy. So I set up a laboratory in my house. I would also like to participate with you in the forthcoming Science Congress.
The Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad was jointly organized by Al-Arafah Islami Bank and Bangladesh Science Popularization Association. The six-member Bangladesh team participated in the 18th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJS O-21) through various camps and grooming from this Olympiad. Bangladesh team has won a total of 6 medals. Of these, two are silver and four are bronze.
The 8th Children and Adolescent Science Congress 2021 was jointly organized by the National Museum of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Freedom Foundation and Bangladesh Science Popularization Association. A total of 30 children have been awarded in these three categories of Paper, Poster and Project.
A total of 21 people have been awarded in four categories of the competition titled Women in the Advancement of Science jointly organized by the National Museum of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Freedom Foundation and Bangladesh Science Popularization Association.
