Digital Bangladesh, based on the vision of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina, is now a reality. The country is moving forward with the power of technology and the talent of youth. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this while addressing as the chief guest at the annual conference of Bangladesh Chhatra League Singra Upazila, Singra Municipality and Gol-e-Afroz Government College Branch at Singra Upazila Court Ground on Sunday afternoon.
He said the people’s leader Sheikh Hasina has transformed Bangladesh from a least developed country to a developing country with her honesty, talent and courage. After a journey of 13 years, we are now a caravan from a middle income country to a developed country. People’s lives are much easier, more beautiful and safer now in advanced technology dependent digital Bangladesh.
Palak said that, 13 crore people in the country are using internet. The benefits of reducing the cost of Internet by several thousand times is being visible. Since 2010, as many as 201 citizen services have been provided to the marginalized people of the country through 8000 digital centers. Through this, it has been possible to prevent procrastination and corruption in receiving citizen services. Now there is no need to pursue in the district headquarters to get the land settlement records. There is no need to worry about filling up the admission forms in the university anymore.
He further said that the present government has created all the platforms of Digital Bangladesh under the direction of the Prime Minister and the plan of Sajib Wazed Joy. Six and a half lakh freelancers have been created in the country using these platforms. These entrepreneurs are earning foreign currency sitting at home. Export revenue in the information technology sector has exceeded one billion dollars. The state minister said that by 2025, the export revenue in the technology sector will exceed five billion dollars.
Addressing the leaders and workers of Chhatra League, State Minister Palak said, Bangladesh will be a new country of knowledge-based innovation in 2041. We have to play a leading role in making every campus of the country a green, clean and safe campus by preventing drugs, militancy and corruption.
The conference was inaugurated by Bangladesh Chhatra League President Al-Nahyan Joy. Lekhok Bhatracharya, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, addressed the first session of the conference which was presided over by Khalid Hasan, the Singra Upazila Chhatra League President.
Natore District BCL President Farhad Bin Aziz and General Secretary Shariful Islam Shahin addressed the conference as special speakers.
In the second session of the conference, the president and general secretary of the new executive council of Bangladesh Chhatra League Singra Upazila, Singra Municipality and Gol-e-Afroz Government College Branch were elected.
After that, newly elected president of Singra Upazila BCL Sajib Islam Jewel, newly elected general secretary Harun Basar, organizing secretary Shimul Parvez, newly elected president of Singra Municipal BCL Faisal Islam Farooq, newly elected general secretary Abu Saeed Saju, newly elected president of Gol-e-Afroz Government College BCL Dipto Jyoti Ghosh Bandhan, Sohail Rana Mitul, newly elected General Secretary of Gol-e-Afroz Government College BCL, VP Masum Ali, GS Umme Amara Islam Sukhi and Pro VP Rekha Khatun and AGS candidate Naeem Islam were greeted by Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
