Seven hundred indie game makers have released a ‘charity game bundle’ of 900 games on ‘itch.io’ in an effort to provide relief assistance to war-torn Ukraine. The bundle is not limited to games; It also has books, comics, songs, tabletop RPGs and much more.
Meanwhile, in the first 16 hours of making the game bundle, the income has been 1 million dollars. And all of that money went to charities providing relief in Ukraine.
The Charity game manufacturers wrote in the description to the bundle, “as well as game makers, we want to create a new world, but it is not ours to destroy. We have partnered with the Charity Bundle to help Ukrainians survive this difficult time and end the war.”
Brandon Sheffield, founder of Necrosoft Games, told the technology site Verge that video game publisher Ra Fury, a member of the alliance, has signed up to itch.i to open a large portion of its own game library to the Bundle for Ukraine.
With a minimum grant of $ 10, gamers will be able to play a large number of indie games, including ‘Skatebird’ and ‘Superhot’, said Verge.
The Bundle for Ukraine currently supports two charities. The first of these is the International Medical Corporation. The second is the Ukraine-based Voices of Children; The organization works with children traumatized by the war violence.
