Garachon Gilles, France’s charge d’affaires in Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar at his office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest, particularly on the expansion and advancement of telecommunications and digital technology.
The Minister of Telecommunications expressed optimism that the excellent relations between the two friendly countries – Bangladesh and France, would be further strengthened in the days to come, adding that France is a genuine friend of Bangladesh. He said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in the continuation of digitization.
He highlighted the progress of the government in various sectors including telecommunication sector and said that Bangladesh is a very lucrative place for investment. He expressed hope that France would come forward to invest in the telecommunications sector by implementing the government’s investment-friendly policy. The pioneer of digital technology development of the country, Mostafa Jabbar appreciated the role of France in entering the satellite era of Bangladesh through the launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-1.
Charge d’Affaires spoke of his efforts to take the historical relationship between France and Bangladesh to a unique height in the days to come. He lauded the continued progress of Bangladesh especially in the field of digital technology.
