Mentioning zero tolerance against ragging, Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Anwar Hossain said, “I warn everyone, if anyone rags my boys or girls on and off campus, none of them will be spared. If there is any allegation of ragging, action will be taken against them through maximum application of university law.”
In the gallery of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Academic Building in JUST on Sunday afternoon, Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain warned so in a ‘Freshers’ Reception, Curriculum distribution and Farewel’ program arranged by Fisheries and Marine Bio-science (FMB) Department.
Towards the fresher students, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain said, “You will roam freely in this university. You will build yourself as a skilled manpower to build the Bangladesh of the future. And will build yourselves as enlightened humans. That is our expectation.”
JUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain addressed towards the departing students and said, “No one ever leaves a university. Now you are the proud alumni of this university. The responsibility of spreading the reputation of this university is now on your shoulders. Wherever you go, your handprints, footprints and talents will be left behind. Remember, lest your actions should not make us bow our heads.”
A souvenir was handed over to the JUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain by the FMB department for being honored by receiving the Ekushey Padak–2022 in the field of science and technology. Earlier, the freshmen were greeted with flowers and curriculum. On the other hand, the departing students were greeted and honored with crests as memento.
Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Chairman, FMB Department presided over the meeting. The FMB senior professo Dr. Md. Anisur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Biology Dr. Md. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, FMB Associate Professor Dr. Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Md. Abdus Samad, Assistant Professor Pooja Baidya, Al-Mamun Farid, FMB student Sushanta Kumar Roy, Sushmita Goswami and others spoke in the event.
The program was conducted by Zakia Jahan Soochi and Rezwan Biswas, students of the same department. Students of different years including teachers, officers and employees of the department were present on the occasion.
