The Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has fined Apple 5 million Euros ($5.6 million) for the fifth time. The regulator has fined the Apple App Store for not allowing third-party payment methods to be used. News Reuters.
According to the company, the iPhone maker has failed to allow other software makers in the Netherlands to use different payment methods. They are illegally exploiting their top spot in the market.
Earlier, a deadline of January 15 was set for the third party to use the payment method. Apple did not do that within the allotted time. And so is fining five million euros per week. This time the fine was imposed for the fifth time.
Apple will charge 28 percent commission on their in-app payments instead of 30 percent. However, it does not currently agree to use any third party payment services.
