Japan’s Sony Group has become a new tech giant to compete with the world’s fastest growing technology market. The Tokyo-based company is all set to set up a new company for manufacturing electric vehicles this year. The name of the company will be ‘Sony Mobility Inc.’
Sony Chairman and President Kenichiro Yoshida made the announcement at the CES Technology Conference in the United States. The ‘Sony Vision-S’ sedan was shown in a video on the stage at that time. In addition to this, there was another brand-new model – Sony Vision – Sports Utility Vehicle -a Prototype of SS SUV.
Technology site TechCrunch says this means Sony’s car won’t take long to get to your fingertips.”
Yoshida told the conference that Sony is looking to enter the electric car market by setting up the company in the spring of 2022. Not only that, Sony’s chairman is quite optimistic about competing well with other electric car makers.
He added, “The new Vision-SS SUV is based on our Vision-S based on safety, adaptability and entertainment. A total of 40 sensors have been installed inside and outside the vehicle for safety monitoring. There will also be high speed 5G for in-car and cloud connection. And Vision-S is going to be a dynamic entertainment hub with gaming experience and audio.”
