Mumbai police have arrested a young man for allegedly uploading pictures of hundreds of Muslim women without their knowledge and creating a controversial app called ‘Bulli Bai’ for sale. The 21-year-old arrested from Bangalore is a second-year student of the civil engineering department. However, his name was not known.
According to the Economic Times, quoting the police, he was identified by extracting the IP address from the source of his Twitter account.
However, the Mumbai Police did not disclose the details.

They have only been told whether he did it alone or if he was a part of an organized gang. He will be interrogated to know these matters.
The arrested youth was brought to Mumbai on Monday.
The controversial ‘Bulli Bai’ app was uploaded to the opensource platform GitHub. Hundreds of Muslim women, including journalists, social workers, and even a national award-winning Bollywood actress and a student who went missing in 2016, were unknowingly uploaded and auctioned.
Mumbai Police has filed a case against both Bulli Bai and the Twitter handle on which the app is being promoted.
Following the lawsuit, GitHub removed the ‘Bulli Bai’ app from their platform.
An app called ‘Sulli Deals’ has been created in India before, ignoring Muslim women. Where pictures of 80 Muslim women were uploaded and auctioned. Police have arrested a man on suspicion of involvement in the making of Bulli Bai, but no arrests have been made so far in connection with the making of Sulli Deal six months ago.
