The research presentation session of the Children and Adolescent Science Congress 2021 is going on online. In these two days yesterday and today, about 350 little-scientists connected online from all over the country have presented their excellent research. The research presentation of the three-day event will end today. The 7th Children and Adolescent Science Congress will be over on December 29, at 3 pm with the closing ceremony. Earlier, the Science Congress of 2021 started with the presentation of research in the online Science Congress on the morning of December 27.
Three zoom lounges of this year’s online science congress were named after 3 famous Bengali scientists: Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam, Dr. AR Khan and Haripada Kapali. The participants presented their research in these 3 zoom lounges. PhD researchers, teachers, science congress experts from various universities at home and abroad were involved online to evaluate these studies of little-scientists. 90 scientific papers, 37 posters and 62 projects have been submitted for presentation online at the Science Congress.
At the Science Congress, the little scientists studying from class III to class XII are participating in 3 categories. The categories are Primary (Class 3 to Class 5), Junior (Class 6 to Class 9) and Senior (Class 10 to Class 12). Participants are presenting their scientific research through either scientific papers, scientific posters or science projects.
The three-day online science congress will kick off tomorrow with the closing ceremony. Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology Muhammad Munir Chowdhury, Editor of Monthly Biggyan Chinta, Abdul Qayyum and Executive Director of Bangladesh Freedom Foundation, Sajjadur Rahman will be present at the awards ceremony and closing ceremony on the online zoom platform at 3 pm. Dhaka University Assistant Professor Mustaq Ibn Ayub, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Science Popularization Association Dr. Farsim Mannan Mohammadi and convener of Science Congress 2021 and Bangla Academy Award winner, Dr. Soumitra Chakraborty. The best research work of the Congress will be declared the winner in that event.
Preparatory workshops and Kudrat-e-Khuda Science Camps have been organized across the country and online to prepare for the Congress from last April to November. The rules of participation in the Science Congress have been taught in the preparatory workshops. The two-day Kudrat-e-Khuda Science Camp and Meghnad Saha Science Workshop have also taught the details of projects, posters and papers along with scientific methods.
The Children and Adolescent Science Congress 2021 is being organized for the 8th time this year with the aim of popularizing science education among the school-college students of the country and teaching the students to think like scientists. It is jointly organized by Bangladesh Science Popularization Association (SPSB), Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) and National Science and Technology Museum. The Daily Prothom Alo as organizing partner, Knowledge Partner Masslab and Magazine Partner Kishore Alo and Biggyan Chinta are the organizing partners of the congress.
