India has succeeded in testing a new generation of nuclear-armed missiles. Agni series ‘Agni Prime Missile’ was launched off the coast of Orissa on Saturday.
According to Indian media NDTV, it is a medium-range missile. It is claimed to be capable of hitting targets of one to two thousand kilometers. Wirehead weight is between one and a half thousand to three thousand kilograms. The ANI report says that it has added many new features to the Agni Prime, a nuclear-capable strategic missile.
“The missile test met the objectives of all its missions with the highest level of accuracy,” ANI was quoted as saying by an official. Earlier on the 6th of this month, India successfully tested a version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The Ministry of Defense has described BrahMos as a “major milestone” in development. Recently, the government of the country also successfully tested Agni-5 missile.
