Throughout 2021, the incidence of ransomware attacks has been recurring. The latest attack is very disappointing for some special staff. Cronos, a manpower and payroll management software service provider, has been the victim of a major ransomware attack, Engadget quoted NBC as saying. Employees of popular companies like Gamestop, Honda and Whole Foods have faced time management and payroll disruptions.
This week, many companies are paying their employees bonuses before Christmas. However, as a result of this attack, it is believed that many workers may not get their salary-bonus in time.
Kronos revealed the attack on December 11. The company said it could still take “a few weeks” to return to full operation. However, Cronos has not yet identified the culprit behind the attack.
According to Whole Foods, they are paying salaries and bonuses to the employees in an alternative way. However, Honda is still looking for a solution to the problem.
