Urging to keep pace with technological advancement, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “After a hundred years, the world has witnessed an evolution in industry. We must prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Care must be taken to ensure that everyone uses technology equally. Developed countries have a responsibility in this regard.
He made the call at the closing ceremony of the International Conference on the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital. The Prime Minister joined the conference by video conference from the Ganobhaban.
The Prime Minister remarked, “The use of technology is constantly increasing. Bangladesh has to keep pace with this. Industrialization is what we need. We also need agriculture. So, we need both agriculture and industry. We have to move forward with that in mind.”
On the concluding day of the conference, Professor Sajjad Hossain, Member of Bangladesh University Grants Commission delivered his welcome speech.
University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Kazi Shahidullah presided over the ceremony; among others, the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni and Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel spoke.
The conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Md. Abdul Hamid, President of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh on Friday by joining virtually from the Bangabhaban.
