HMD Global Bangladesh has announced the release of two models of Nokia Mobile G series in Bangladesh, namely G-10 and G-20. On Thursday, a hotel in the capital Dhaka officially announced the launch of ‘Bangladesh Made’ Nokia phones for Bangladeshi customers.
Ravi Kunwar, General Manager (Pan Asia) at HMD Global said, “Today is a golden day for us. Undoubtedly, the last one year has been very challenging for us, but this time it has given us the opportunity to think and prepare and take the next big step. The establishment of a factory in Bangladesh and the unveiling of the handset attached there is a milestone in our journey ‘.
It was informed at the ceremony that the two sets were made in a factory of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City located at Kaliakair in Gazipur, Bangladesh. Vibrant Software (Bangladesh) Limited, a UK-based company comprising Vibrant Software and Union Group Bangladesh, has set up the first factory in Bangladesh to manufacture world-renowned Nokia brand smartphones. Initially, 300 phones will be added to the factory per day. The factory has a total of 6 production lines including 2 packaging and 4 assembly. The factory with its own laboratory is self-sufficient in all the necessary infrastructure and the factory has about 200 workers.
Locally made Nokia smartphones will be available at 30 percent less than imported phones.

Certainly, handsets made in Bangladesh will be available to consumers at affordable prices and will help increase Nokia’s market share in the country’s smartphone market.
