During the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, when there was no adequate medical service in the hospital, the Swasthya Batayan (health window) stood by the people. Synesis IT Limited, a leading IT company in Bangladesh, has received the “ASOCIO Healthtech Award 2021” for delivering multidimensional digital services during the country’s crisis. Organized by WITSA with the support of Bangladesh Computer Council and ICT Division at Bangabandhu International Convention Center is hosting the largest ICT conference in Bangladesh “WCIT 2021” from November 11 to November 14. The award was presented at the WCIT conference on 12 November.
Sohrab Ahmed Chowdhury, Managing Director of Synesis IT, received this ASOCIO Healthtech Award 2021 on behalf of Synesis IT. Abdur Rashid, Director, Synesis IT and Kazi Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant General Manager and Team Lead, Marketing and Product Innovation were also present at that time.
The award was presented by John Chai, CEO and Vice Chairman of the ASOCIO; Bunrak Saraggananda, CEO and Chairman of the IT and Digital Bureau; Abdullah Kafi, Managing Director of Jan Associates Limited; and Shahid-ul-Munir, Chairman of the Bangladesh Computer Society.
The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) is an ICT federation, formed in 1983 by the National ICT Associations of 24 countries in Asia and Oceania. The organization gives awards in 4 categories every year.
Receiving the award, Sohrab Ahmed Chowdhury, Managing Director, Synesis IT, said, “Synesis IT Limited, in collaboration with the Department of Health under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been providing services to the citizens of Bangladesh since 2015 through this mobile based telehealth service center. Health windows have always helped the Bangladesh government during the outbreak of various diseases in the country. Only in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Health Window has provided services to about 13 million people where about 90% of the services were related to the COVID-19 related problem. On behalf of Synesis IT and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Bangladesh Computer Society and ASOCIO for recognizing this great initiative. Lastly, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the doctors in the health window who have been providing this great service round the clock with unceasing and passionate passion from the very beginning.
In order to bring digital health services to the doorsteps of the people of the country, the call center of the national health service “Swasthya Batayan 16263” was officially launched in 2015. From the beginning till now, Swasthya Batayan (Health Window) has stood by the people by providing health services to about 19 million people. In addition, whenever the demand for health services in the country has increased, the Swasthya Batayan has stood by the people and acted like a digital hospital. At the time of the Corona pandemic alone, about 13 million people were served by the Swasthya Batayan.
It is to be noted that apart from Swasthya Batayan 16263, Synesis IT has always contributed to the e-health sector of the country. In 2016, MindSell, a mental health service was launched by Synesis IT’s own service and the first mobile mental health specialist in Bangladesh. Which later won the National ICT Award in 2016. Also, in 2020, Covid-19 tele-health center was launched to deal with corona, which provides services to more than 3 lakh corona patients and is still providing services. The service won the WITSA Global ICT Award, one of the world’s leading awards in the ICT sector, in 2020. In addition, the Mother Tele-Health Center and the Expatriate Friend Call Center for expatriate Bengalis were established to provide medical assistance to pregnant mothers and children during the Corona pandemic. Not only that, the first three-stage specialized call center in Asia was established at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on the initiative of Synesis and a2i. In addition to these services, there are also Sukhi Paribar 16767 (Happy Family 16767), Army Health Services, ‘Doctor Speaking’ and several other digital health services. Above all, the Government of Bangladesh awarded Synesis IT “Digital Bangladesh Award-2020” as the best organization for its outstanding contribution in the field of digital health.
