The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has called upon world leaders to adopt global plans to enhance digital tools and services, internet access, digital content and teacher capacity, emphasizing the importance of creating a technology-friendly learning environment. He made the call on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of UNESCO on Friday (November 12) local time.
Highlighting the importance of investing in ICT education at a function held at UNESCO headquarters, the Bangladesh Prime Minister said, “We have introduced ICT in our education master plan, under which ICT devices have been provided to about 83,000 schools and 3,26,936 teachers have been trained.”
“The pandemic has severely disrupted our education system,” she said. We need a global plan to prioritize education by investing in digital tools and services, internet access, digital content and teacher capacity building to restore it. At the same time, for the welfare of our people, we need to make use of technology and use the benefits of science and scientific research.
