The Department of Health has directed the citizens who have received the first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid vaccine; without delaying for an SMS the are said to go to the center and get the second dose of the vaccine as soon as possible.
An emergency announcement from the Management Information Center-MIS of Department of Health notified this on Monday, “Those who have been waiting a long time after taking the 1st dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine should contact the nearest center and take the second dose as soon as possible.”
Those who have been vaccinated have also been sent messages on their mobile phones.
Prof. Mizanur Rahman, MIS Director and HIS & e-Health Line Director told the media, “(Citizens) are supposed to get SMS to take the second dose. If not, still go to the center. You have to take the vaccine card and say that you have taken the first dose. Then, the vaccination workers will vaccinate you.”
The mass vaccination campaign in the country started on February 7 with the vaccination of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine made at the Serum Institute of India.
After the agreement to buy 30 million doses of vaccine from the company, 7 million doses of vaccine were found in two shipments. Besides, Bangladesh received another 3.2 million doses of vaccine as a gift from the Government of India.
