The national-level virtual innovation hackathon is starting from September 4 to empower young innovators by creating local solutions to their problems. The competition will be held in three rounds. The prototype of the innovation has to be submitted on 18th September after the presentation of the idea. The best innovation will be selected through a final competition on September 25.
a2i and Hi-Tech Park authorities are co-sponsoring the event at the initiative of CTO Forum Bangladesh.
Registration has already started to take part in the competition. The contestants, in the competition,will have to face 6 challenges and 3 sub-challenges such as “A world free from hunger, good health, quality education, e-commerce, emerging technology, virtual assistance, online certificate verification”.
Organizing committee chairman Syed Akhter Hossain gave details of the competition at a virtual press conference on Thursday.
Participating in the press conference, Mozammel Babu, President of The Editors Guild, Bangladesh and Editor-in-Chief of Ekattar Television, urged all to come forward to establish digital sovereignty and nationalism as soon as possible.
In his speech, he also focused on reducing digital inequality.
On the other hand, Shyamal Dutt, editor-in-chief of the daily Bhorer Kagoj, thinks that with the advent of technology, it will be possible to get out of bureaucracy and corruption and increase public participation.
Referring to the visit of the Prime Minister of Bahrain to Dubai, he called upon the youth to get involved in how Bangladesh will function in the next robot world.
CTO Forum President Tapankanti Ghosh presided over the function while Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Bikorna Kumar Ghosh and a2i CTO Arfe Elahi Manik also spoke.
In his speech, Tapan Kanti Sarkar, President of CTO Forum, reminded that Bangladesh is in the golden dividend era.
He called upon the youth to come forward with their own ideas and participate in this innovation hackathon to ensure the implementation of these ideas.
