The winners received the Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Award-2021 in recognition of their social innovative work using digital technology. Out of the total 15 winners announced earlier as individuals and teams in different categories, a total of 12 have appeared in person and received the award. Of the remaining three, two have received awards virtually from abroad.
The awarding ceremony was organized by Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum at Tejgaon Skyview in the capital on Thursday night.
BDSFI co-founder Chowdhury Daulat Muhammad Zafri handed over the award to Alok Chandra Das, winner in the individual category.
Junaid Ahmed Aumi, Founder of Team ‘Keep Smile Foundation’ received the award from Mohammad Arifuzzaman, Managing Director, Real Capita Group. Sushmita also received her award from him.
BDSFI Founder President Ali Akbar Asha virtually joined the event at this stage.
Afterward, Arif Muhammad Abdur Shakur Chowdhury, Managing Director of Saudagar.com, handed over the award to Mamun Moon of Muntasir as Social Increaser.
Team ‘Bahni Shikha’ and Team ‘International Youth Changemaker’ also received their awards from Kazi H. Robin, Associate Professor, World University. He also handed over the award to the winner Syed Nazneen Ahmed Silvi for his social work in Chunarghat area of Sylhet. She dedicated her award to her husband.
In the Volunteer Leadership category, Upoma Ahmed received the award from Dr. Tanjima Rahman, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society. She also handed over the award to Khandaker Abdul Awal Tanvir, Founder President of Team ‘Youth Entrepreneur Network’.
Besides, BizCop Founder CEO Nahid Hasan handed over the award to Jannatul Tahsin, Content Creator of ‘Studybooth Learn Together’. The award was handed over to founder Maisha Morshed in her absence. He also handed over the award to Mohammad Mohsin, Captain, Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team.
India’s Palak Sharma, an award winner in this year’s Global Individual Leadership category for the first time in a global context, shared her experience online. Similarly, winner S. Abida Birasai from Indonesia also joined virtually.
Acting Secretary-General of Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum Sharif Mahmud and Vice President of the organization Ibrahim Hossain also handed over the award to Team ‘Engineers Hub’ on the occasion.
Finally, on behalf of the organization, Special Honors were handed over to President Mohammad Arifuzzaman, the founder of the Abul Bashar Foundation.
