Russia will work with the United States to find cybercriminals. The head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement that the decision was taken after a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden in Switzerland.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted FSB chief Alexander Bortnikov as saying at a security conference in Moscow.
Moscow is now awaiting Washington’s response to cybersecurity advice. Another senior Russian official was quoted as saying by the Russian news agency TASS.
The United States has previously accused hackers of acting directly on behalf of the Russian government or on Russian soil in some cases. However, the Kremlin has always denied any involvement in the attack.
