This is the 4th year of launching Bangabandhu Satellite-1. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held on the online platform on Wednesday evening, May 12.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar was the chief guest at the meeting organized by Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL). In the meeting, the Minister delivered his directional speech on ensuring the best use of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 and the next satellite of the country (Bangabandhu Satellite-2).
Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md. Afzal Hossain was also present as a special guest.
The meeting was chaired by BSCL chairman Shahjahan Mahmud.
Mr. Muhammad Abdul Hannan, Managing Director of BSCL presented the keynote address at the seminar.
Earlier, on May 12, 2016, at 2:14 AM Bangladesh time (May 11, 4:14 PM US time), the ‘Bangabandhu Satellite-1’ was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, the USA with the help of SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket.
Through this, Bangladesh became the 57th country in the world to join the elite club of satellite owners. And Bangabandhu Satellite took its glorious place in the space.
