Thursday was World Password Day. And to celebrate the day, Google said that passwords alone are not enough to secure your account and data. Google is therefore introducing two-step authentication (two-step verification) by default on all Google accounts. News Engadget.
People with two-factor authentication have a notification on their phone when they sign in to their account, they just sign in by tapping on it.
According to Google, from now on, this authentication system will be launched automatically for everyone.
Google Account Security Checkup lets you know if this security feature is on. While this can be turned off, there are still risks to account and data security.
