Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabba commented that ‘Internet is the best library in the world’ and said that the opportunity to gain skills should be utilized by ensuring its proper use. But it is not necessary to be a computer scientist or space scientist to become a smart citizen, it is necessary to acquire minimum digital skills.
The minister opined so while addressing as the chief guest at a seminar on ‘Leadership Skills for Smart Bangladesh’ organized by Axonist Foundation at Professor Habibullah Hall, Faculty of Business, Dhaka University.
Mustafa Jabbar said that human resource with digital skills will be the tool for building smart Bangladesh. Smart citizens will build smart Bangladesh. That is why it is essential to develop a smart education system suitable for acquiring digital skills along with conventional education.
Calling the new generation very talented, he also said, the name of our wealth is people. We are not working on a fourth industrial revolution or a mechanized industrial revolution by turning them into resources, we are working on a human industrial revolution or a fifth industrial revolution. Missing the first and second industrial revolutions, overcoming the backwardness of 324 years in technology, we aim to build this humane industry in the mix of man and machine.
ANM Fakrul Islam, the Executive Director of Axonist Foundation, chaired the event. Bernard Spinier, a2i Officer Manik Mahmood and Secretary of Axonist Foundation Raisa Nasser spoke. Speakers emphasized on the need for digital transformation of education to implement Smart Bangladesh.
