Jeff Bezos’ Amazon will soon compete with Elon Musk’s Starlink broadband network. Amazon’s Kuiper Internet Network has placed experimental satellites in space to provide Internet services. News Reuters.
According to news, Amazon launched two prototype satellites last Friday (October 6).
The two smaller satellites launched by Bezos are Kuipersat-1 and Kuipersat-2. The two satellites were launched into an orbit 500 km above Earth’s surface by an Atlas-5 rocket. The rocket was launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Center in Florida, USA.
Bezos plans to deploy more than 3,200 artificial satellites over the next few years to provide global Internet connectivity. If all goes well, the satellites will go into service by the end of next year.
Of course, space-based Internet services will face fierce competition from Amazon. Because Starlink has already launched satellite internet services in many countries.
