Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Project and women entrepreneurs’ platform Women and E-Commerce Trust (WE), two organizations of Bangladesh, have won the World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT 2023) award. a2i won three awards alone. And WE won two medals.
a2i won three awards for the project ‘National Intelligence for Skills, Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship-NICE’ and ‘Muktopath – Ensuring e-Learning for All’ at the ‘WITSA Awards Night’ on Thursday, the third day of the WCIT 2023 conference. Won the Digital Opportunity of WITSA; Awarded Inclusion Award and e-Education and Learning Award.
At the WITSA Awards Night held in Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK) in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, Women and E-Commerce (WE) won this award as the best project among a large number of projects in IT around the world in the ‘Women in Tech Award’ category.
At the WITSA Awards Night ceremony, WITSA Chairman Sean Shiah, The National Tech Association of Malaysia (PICOM) Chairman Ong Chin Siong and other guests presented the awards. Jinia Zerin and Elavi Zaman Disha accepted the award on behalf of a2i.
On receiving the WITSA Award, WE Founder, President Nasima Akhtar Nisha said, “For me, it is like a dream come true. This international recognition will give more motivation to the immigrants to move forward. It will speed up our works and morale at a great extent. For working in technology sector, we heard about WITSA for a long time. And today, I got that award. I can’t express this love in words.”
The World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) organizes these awards every year. It is considered as a prestigious award in the global IT sector. Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) is the only member of WITSA, the world organization of information technology sector in the country. Every year, BCS nominates various projects for this global award by WITSA that play a special role in information technology.
Congratulating Bangladesh on its success, WITSA Chairman Sean Shiah said that it is undoubtedly a matter of pride to move from digital to smart Bangladesh in a short period of time in the information technology sector. Congratulations to a2i for delivering technology services across the country through pioneering innovations and Women and E-Commerce (WE) for developing young women entrepreneurs with interest in technology. I believe that technological excellence will serve as a tool to deal with our problems in this critical global moment.
BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar said that BCS has always been working as a guardian of technology organizations. BCS is always committed to properly present the country’s innovation and effective projects to WITSA. a2i and WE’s achievements have brought glory to the country’s technology sector. BCS has always been working to promote the technology sector of the country to the world and our efforts will continue.
