Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has canceled the licenses of 4 more internet service providers. The license cancellation of Nabil Net, P-Net, Poralekha Online, AirNet Communication was confirmed on the website of BTRC on Wednesday (October 4) due to violation of Licensing Guidelines and Telecommunication Regulatory Act.
In the emergency notification signed by Director of Licensing Branch of BTRC Md. Nurannabi, these four companies have been ordered to stop their activities. At the same time, BTRC has also prohibited any kind of financial transactions with thes companies.
Although the circular was signed on October 1, it was published on the BTRC website on Wednesday (October 4). It has been informed that the ISP licenses of four organizations have been canceled with the approval of the authorities for violating the licensing guidelines and the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulation Act without converting the Internet Service Provider (ISP) license within the stipulated time. Any operation under the license after cancellation shall be illegal and punishable by law.
The notification also said that everyone is requested to refrain from any kind of contract and financial transaction with the four organizations whose licenses have been cancelled. At the same time, within the next 10 days, the companies have been ordered to surrender the licenses to the BTRC office.
Earlier on September 24, BTRC canceled the license of four institutions for the same reason. They are Idea Network and Communication, Digital Connectivity Limited, Pretty International Private Limited, Sadia Tech Limited.
