State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, ‘I am a political worker at heart. As such, serving the people is my main job.’ He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop organized for teachers on the occasion of ‘School Health Programme’ at Noor Makkah Eye Hospital in the capital on Tuesday (October 3). More than a hundred teachers from different educational institutions of the capital participated in the workshop organized by Al-Bassar International Foundation.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said while speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, ‘It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure a healthy and bright future for children. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced the construction of Smart Bangladesh based on the four pillars of Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society. Children need to be fit by improving physical and mental healthcare to create smart citizens.’
He also said, ‘Many students do not know that they have eye problems. If students, teachers and parents are made aware of eye diseases, it is possible to protect children from eye diseases including blindness in the early stage.
Pointing out that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is playing an important role in the health care of the people of Bangladesh, the State Minister said, ‘Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have significant cultural and religious ties. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s contribution to Bangladesh’s eye health care sector stands as a testament to the ever-strengthening relationship between our two brotherly countries.’
The event was presided over by the country director of Al-Bassar International Foundation Dr. Ahmed Taher Hamid Ali. It was attended by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Assistant Supervisor General Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamadi, Director General of Al-Bassar International Foundation. Dr. Adel Al Rushhud, Noor Makkah Eye Hospital Senior Consultant Dr. AKM Mamunur Rashid and others were present at that time.
