Google has many examples of launching various products and services and stopping those services as well if they do not get the expected response or if the business is not profitable. Jamboard is now joining the growing list of discontinued products and services. News Engadget.
According to the news, the Jamboard whiteboarding app will be completely closed sometime at the end of next year. This information is known from a post in the workspace.
Jamboard is the own whiteboarding solution of Google that allows multiple people to use it in realtime. When something is drawn or edited on its website or app, it is immediately visible on the Jamboard hardware.
Google is adding Figjam, LucidSpark, and Miro to Workspace’s collaborative digital whiteboard so users don’t lose track of previous work. Jamboard jobs can be migrated to these tools.
Along with closing the Jamboard app, Google is also ending support for their $5,000 Jamboard device. These devices were last sold in 2017. It will not get any auto-updates from September 30 next year.
