IT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the information about imposing taxes on freelancers is a rumour. He informed it at the workshop of Felicity Internet Data Center at a hotel in the capital on Saturday. He said, freelancers do not have to pay tax on their income at any source. Freelancing sector will be free from income tax.
BTRC chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder said that 17 companies in Bangladesh have been given permission to manufacture the device. He asked them to protect their information by using their own technology.

Even freelancers are given a 4 percent incentive if they bring remittances to the country. which is contributing to the country’s economy.’
The ICT state minister said, ‘If we can save all the data that is currently coming to Bangladesh from various platforms in the world, then a billion dollar business opportunity will be created.’
