It started in 2013. This year marks the eighth year in a row that the 10 Under-40s who have made a positive impact on society will receive the award. On October 13, Local Government Minister Md. Tajul Islam will hand over the 10 Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) 2023 award to the winners at The Sheraton Hotel in the capital.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh Chapter, an international organization of youth, informed the matter at a press conference held at ‘The Daily Star’ Seminar Hall in the capital’s Karwan Bazar on Tuesday.
Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, National President of JCI Bangladesh, gave details about the event. JCI Deputy National President Imran Qadir, TOYP 2023 Director Erfan Haque, Convener Abdullah Safi, Co-Convener Arefin Rafi Ahmed, Ariz Afsar Khan and Muhammad Altamish Nabil were present among others.
Receiving Nominations begin today to recognize individuals who have achieved business, economics, entrepreneurial achievement, politics, legal issues, government affairs, academic leadership, personal advancement or achievement, medical innovation, cultural achievement, and humanitarian or volunteer leadership. Apart from the 34 regional chapters of JCI Bangladesh, anyone can propose names for the honor by mailing to the YOP address.
Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, President of JCI Bangladesh, said, “JCI is not only giving awards but is also working to increase the employment of the youth and various initiatives for the development of the society to build smart Bangladesh. He is also vocal about protecting the environment. As part of this, a new employment initiative has been taken by reviving a dead canal in Mohammadpur soon.
