Under the initiative of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, ‘Knowledge Park’ is being established at Dattapur, Lalmai, Cumilla. The Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the foundation stone of the park on Saturday. In the opening ceremony, it was informed that about 1000 employment opportunities will be created after the construction of this knowledge park on 7.88 acres of land in Dattapur Mauza is completed. Apart from this, 3000 people will be trained every year under the project. The park may be inaugurated next October. With that expectation, local freelancer Arafat bin Kashem was allotted 2000 square feet of space in the newly built park. WE Trust President Nasima Akhter Nishao has been allotted a place as well.
GSM Zafarullah, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority gave a welcome speech on the occasion. Cumilla Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan spoke as a special guest.
While speaking as the president of the event, the State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that, successful freelancers will be given all kinds of support to become entrepreneurs.
He said, ‘People’s leader Sheikh Hasina has provided opportunities for digital employment in digital Bangladesh. The ICT Department is working to develop freelancers into successful entrepreneurs by providing capital, training, and technical support and all kinds of support. 14 years ago from today, no one could have imagined that we can provide modern technology-based employment, house-to-house electricity in remote areas. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina showed us the dreams, she has implemented them with day and night hard work, honesty, courage and foresight.
The state minister said that currently, about 70 percent of the population of Bangladesh is below 35 years of age. About 5 crore children are studying in different institutions like Primary schools, high schools, colleges, universities, madrasas. They will lead Bangladesh as businessmen, journalists, lawyers, scientists, secretaries, MP-ministers in the future. That is why honorable ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy has fixed the four main pillars of Smart Bangladesh. The first and main pillar of which is Smart Citizen. It was on his advice that we made ICT subjects compulsory from class VI to XII and set up 13,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Computer Labs across Bangladesh to make our students proficient in computer education. To lead the fourth industrial revolution in the future, there is no alternative to the knowledge-based economy. Developed countries that will advance in technology, they may develop robots or other technologies that reduce the dependence on labor. That’s why we need to build a knowledgeable generation’.
