Hacktivists are trying to attack websites as well as Android devices. The Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-GOV CIRT) engaged in monitoring the cyber security of Bangladesh said this while informing about the various tactics of the hacktivists who have a keen eye on the cyber space of Bangladesh.
On August 4, after the company issued a warning on August 15 about the threats given by hackers, CIRT published another report with increased caliber on Monday.
According to CIRT report, hackers use ‘SQL injection’ tools to deface websites by bypassing the admin panel. Using ‘PHP Web Shell’ as a backdoor to infiltrate certain websites.
Using ‘Cyber Rat V Five’, ‘Crax Rat V Three’ to take control of Android devices. Besides, they are using ‘Termax’ and ‘DH-Hackbar’ tools for Android devices. Attempts to slow down or take websites offline are done using multiple devices simultaneously. CIRT said that a tool called ‘hammer’ was identified in this work.
Regarding this report, Director of BGD e-GOV CIRT Project Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan said that the use of hacking tools on Android devices as well as websites has been detected at the institutional level. Hackers are trying to take control of someone’s device by sending phishing links through various messaging apps.
So he particularly advised everyone to be careful about this.
Hackers are using advanced phishing tools like ‘Grey Hat’. Besides, the security audit tool Hackbar v2.9, MITM attack, Killshot pen testing framework tool has been identified by CIRT.
15 incidents of attacks on various websites have also been highlighted in the CIRT report. Of these, six attempts were identified from the United States, four from Singapore, and one each from France, Italy, India, Malaysia and Canada.
