The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training-BMET has started issuing emigration clearance online from last July. As a result, it has been a month since the workers going abroad are getting the emigration clearance online at home. With the introduction of this system, the number of emigration clearances has also increased.
The Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training-BMET said that a record number of applicants received emigration clearances last July. This number was 1 lakh 25 thousand 850.
The BMET informed that this initiative will reduce the harassment of those going abroad, as well as the wastage of money. As a result, more than hundred crore taka will be saved annually from now.
After obtaining a job visa abroad, an expatriate worker has to collect an emigration clearance letter or BMET smart card in order to be eligible to go abroad. And this card is provided by the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training under the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare. Since 2010, the use of emigration clearance card started in manual mode, but after the implementation of Digital Bangladesh vision, it has also moved online.
