Aspire to Innovate (a2i) has awarded certificates and financial awards to the best entrepreneurs of the Digital Center in recognition of providing smart services at people’s doorsteps. A male and a female from each district were awarded as the best entrepreneur. At the same time smart devices (tabs) were awarded to the top three innovative women entrepreneurs of Digital Centers across the country.
On Monday, the a2i’s Project Director (Additional-Secretary) Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir handed over the awards to the best smart entrepreneurs of the country as the chief guest at an event organized at ICT Tower in Agargaon of the capital.
Also, a2i awarded 140 male and female entrepreneurs across the country, including the three winning entrepreneurs of the competition titled ‘2041 Smart Digital Center: Entrepreneur’s Dreams and Expectations’.
The month-long ‘Smart Bangladesh: Smart Service Campaign 2022’ was successfully celebrated across the country to promote smart citizen services. A total of 134 entrepreneurs on the basis of uddokta.eksheba.gov.bd/ report analysis, review of bank and financial institution reports, receiving opinions and suggestions from district administration, maximum service delivery, review of social media reports and the best performance of the next e-service campaign. (Two persons per district and four in Dhaka City Corporation; Two Entrepreneurs were selected centrally from Chattogram City Corporation.
Widespread promotion and provision of government-private smart digital services to marginalized people; This campaign was successfully organized across the country from November 11 to December 10 last year under the supervision of the district and Upazila administration with the aim of establishing a bridge between the local government, district administration and the people and increasing awareness among the citizens about Smart Bangladesh. As a part of this special campaign, the entrepreneurs of Digital Center campaigned on smart service through distribution of leaflets, video exhibition, miking, and yard meetings. During this time, they provided free smart services to special categories of citizens (valiant freedom fighters, elderly, widows, poor disabled etc.). Also, the entrepreneurs campaigned to open bank accounts and bring remittances, increase financial inclusion and financial literacy.
In continuation of the successful implementation of Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021, the government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now working to build a smart Bangladesh of innovative and knowledge-based economy by 2041. Public and private services are continuously being transformed into smart digital services. To further accelerate digital services, a nationwide campaign titled ‘Smart Bangladesh: Smart Service Campaign-2022’ was conducted at the Digital Center’s anniversary event.
During this month-long campaign, 78 lakh 72 thousand 294 smart services were provided by the entrepreneurs of 8663 digital centers. Around Tk. 107 crores were traded during this time. Remittance received was Tk. 67 crores. Digital bank account opening: 51 thousand 699 people and 17 thousand 784 female customer bank accounts were opened. Also 3104 people with special needs were served.
Among others, Project Manager of 2i Majedul Islam, Senior Assistant Secretary of Local Government Department Jasmine Pradhan, Capacity Development Coordinator Ashok Biswas, National Consultant Masum Billah, Kamal Hossain Saikat and entrepreneurs from all over the country and people related to a2i were present at the award ceremony.
