During Eid-ul-Adha, the one-third of the mobile SIM holders who left Dhaka, did not return even after the holidays are over. This information was obtained from the daily account of SIM holders leaving and entering Dhaka till July 1.
The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar published this data of four operators’ SIM holders entering and leaving Dhaka on his verified social handle.
According to statistics, 99 lakh 47 thousand 726 SIM holders left Dhaka till July 1. On the contrary, 32 lakh 82 thousand 152 SIM holders entered Dhaka. Out of the 46 lakh 75 thousand 812 Grameenphone SIM holders who left Dhaka, 7 lakh 26 thousand 239 SIM holders have returned. Similarly, 5 lakh 66 thousand 660 of Robi SIM holders came back out of 16 lakh 80 thousand 762 SIM holders; 17 lakh 47 thousand 86 SIM holders out of 32 lakh 59 thousand 637 SIM holders of Banglalink and 2 lakh 42 thousand 167 SIM holders out of 3 lakh 31 thousand 515 SIM holders of state-owned telecom company Teletalk have returned to Dhaka.
The number of mobile SIM holders those left Dhaka during Eid-ul-Fitr was 27 lakh 90 thousand 791.
According to the information provided by the mobile phone operators, many people use multiple SIMs from multiple operators. But if a person uses more than one SIM then he is considered as multiple customer.
