The first phase of the Learning and Earning project, which started in 2014, will end in the month of December. 40 thousand people from 64 districts of the country have already received training in this project. Through this, 80 percent of the trainees have overcome their unemployment. Entrepreneurship has been added to the second phase of the project following the success of the project. The Learning and Earning Development Project of the Information and Communication Technology Department conducted a workshop on ‘Freelancing Idea Sharing’ with a new project. Speaking as the chief guest at the workshop held at the BCC conference center in Agargaon of the capital on Tuesday, Md. Samsul Arefin, Secretary, ICT Division emphasized the creation of ethical hackers for the security of the country’s cyber world.
He said, if artificial intelligence is not able to adapt, it will not be possible for freelancers to survive in the future. In the future, AI will eat everything if we don’t master this.
The ICT Secretary also emphasized finding new markets for freelancers.
BCC Executive Director Ranjit Kumar, Joint Secretary Ataur Rahman and Director General of Digital Security Agency Md Kamruzzaman spoke in the program. The workshop was conducted by the Project Director Humayun Kabir and chaired by Additional Secretary Naveed Shafiullah.
Although the title of the workshop was ‘Freelancer’ or ‘Entrepreneur’, its main objective was to ensure mass employment in the private sector by promoting ‘work-oriented education’. At the same time it was decided to continue the project with minimum cost without installing big budget equipment and to publish a report on the feedback of the workshop participants and evaluation of the project. The suggestion comes to provide training in hardware along with soft skills training.
Hundreds of freelancers at the event shared their experiences and expect actions. In the field of freelancing, they highlighted the need for support and more training to improve their skills.
