Bangladesh Forest Department’s ‘Sustainable Forests and Livelihoods (SUFAL)’ project staff will be paid through Nagad from now on. As a result, the people associated with the project will get their salary at home.
Recently, a tripartite agreement was signed among Forest Department, Department of Posts and Nagad Limited at Forest Building in Agargaon of the capital. Deputy Chief Forest Conservator and Project Director Gobind Roy, Director (Planning) Parveen Banu on behalf of Postal Department and Executive Director Md. Safayet Alam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Chief External Affairs Officer of Nagad Sheikh Shabab Ahmed, General Manager of Commercial Affairs Mohammad Monirul Islam, Deputy General Manager of Government Sales Tanveer Chowdhury, Chief Conservator of Forests Md. Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests (Social Forest Wing) Md. Moinuddin Khan and Directorate of Posts Postal Attaché Md. Mizanur Rahman and others were present at this time.
As a result of this agreement, the forest department will benefit the project workers by getting their remuneration through Nagad instantly. Out of this, the daily wage of day laborer is Tk. 500, the monthly salary of watcher is Tk. 3000, the monthly salary of community patrolling is Tk. 1800 and will be paid through Nagad. Under this scheme, people associated with SuFaL scheme get salary and other benefits of more than 200 crore taka annually.
About the signing of the contract, the Executive Director of Nagad Md. Safayet Alam said, ‘Nagad has become a popular service for people in a very short time. That is why the government is distributing various types of allowances through Nagad. Besides, many government institutions and organizations are paying their employees’ salaries and allowances through Nagad, which motivates us to render better services.’
