In four cases of check fraud, the former CEO of e-commerce company Evaly Md Rasel has been granted bail on Monday. Jhalkathi Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge HM Imranur Rahman granted his bail.
In addition, in a separate order, the judge has ordered to seize all the immovable properties and movable goods of Shamima Nasreen, the wife of the former chairman of Evaly, Md. Russell.
Mizanur Rahman Mubin, the lawyer of the plaintiffs in the case, said that the accused Rasel was brought from Dhaka Central Jail to Jhalokathi Jail in view of the petition of the plaintiffs of the case. When he appeared in court on Monday morning, his bail was granted on a bail bond of Tk. 5,000.
It may be noted that, in 2022, three local customers filed four check fraud cases against Rasel in Jhalokathi court. Among them, Md. Mustahid Alam filed two cases. His claim in two cases is 6 lakh 90 thousand taka. In addition, Md. Ibrahim Khalil filed a lawsuit demanding 5 lakh 95 thousand taka. Besides, another customer named Enamul Haque Saju filed a case. This customer claims that he owes 18 lakh 17 thousand 71 taka to Evaly.
