The Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumers Association-BMPCA has alleged that the state-owned mobile operator Teletalk is deducting money before the customer’s call is received at the service center. In a press release, a Teletalk customer named Atiqur Rahman of Bhuyapur Upazila of Tangail has made a written complaint to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Wednesday afternoon.
However, there is no indication that BTRC is accepting the invitation letter attached with the press release. In a press release signed by Sheikh Farid, the office secretary of the organization, said that “cutting service charges in this way is against the Commission Act and Telecommunication Regulation Act 2001”.
Regarding this, the president of the organization Mohiuddin Ahmed said, our demand was to keep the call center charge zero. But on the contrary, the service charge is supposed to be charged from the time the customer receives the phone after the call, but the state agency starts deducting the charge as soon as the call is made to Teletalk’s call center even before receiving the call. Please discuss the above complaint with a senior official of Teletalk Authority and resolve it. But it is sad that the matter has not been resolved even though a long time has passed.
