For making the journey to homes to celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha with families, all the train tickets will be sold online. No tickets will be available from the counter. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan told that advance train tickets will be on sell from June 14.
He said that plans have been made considering Eid on June 29. As per the Eid-centric railway action plan, all inter-city train’s weekend holidays are being canceled from June 24 till the eve of the Eid. This time, the Ministry of Railways has decided to sell tickets for the eastern and western zones separately.
According to the new decision, the sale of tickets for all inter-city trains running in the western region will start from 8 am and the tickets for all inter-city trains running in the eastern region will start sale from 12 noon.
As per the plan of action, tickets for June 24 will be available on June 14. Similarly, advance tickets for June 25 will be given on June 15, June 16 for June 26, June 17 for June 27 and June 18 for June 28. Return advance tickets for Eid journey will start from 22nd June. Accordingly, tickets for 2nd July can be issued on 22nd June. Tickets will be given on 23 June for 3 July, 24 June for 4 July, 25 June or 5 July and 26 June for 6 July respectively.

The Eastern Zone of the railway includes Chattogram, Feni, Cumilla, Chandpur, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Mymensingh, Jamalpur and Dhaka. And the Western Zone includes Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Sirajganj, Tangail, Pabna, Natore, Chapainawabganj, Bogra, Jaipurhat, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Chuadanga and Kushtia.
Meanwhile, it has been proposed to stop the movement of cargo trains from June 26 at 12:00 pm to June 29 at 6:00 pm. However, container and fuel oil trains will run. For the convenience of passengers, the sale of tickets to Dhaka (Kamalapur) from Joydevpur and Airport stations will be closed for five days before Eid.
