The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak wrote a post from his hotel on the second day of his visit to Japan as the Prime Minister’s companion, writing ‘Good Morning Tokyo’. He also published a brief schedule of the day’s activities in this post.
As scheduled, Palak met with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Chairman and CEO Norihiko Ishiguru in the morning. In the meeting held at Akasaka Palace in Minato-ku, Tokyo, the issue of joint partnership between the two countries to implement the ‘Smart Leadership Academy’, which is being built to form the qualified leadership of Smart Bangladesh in 2041, is the most important. According to the sources of the meeting, from this academy, government officials, journalists, politicians and doctors had a detailed discussion about the opportunity to gain knowledge and research on Society 5.0.
The meeting also discussed how Japanese and Bangladeshi companies can cooperate in expanding each other’s business in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, microchip designing, nanotech designing and cyber security as frontier technologies. Meanwhile, the ICT State Minister urged Japanese companies to invest in Bangladesh’s Hi-tech park and cyber security sector.
After the meeting, Zunaid Ahmed Palak presented JETRO Chairman with a souvenir of joint partnership of JETRO-ICT Division, biography of Bangabandhu written in Japanese and two books written on the achievements of Digital Bangladesh.
Also today, the State Minister will discuss areas of joint cooperation with Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship League (JBPFL) President ASO Taro and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi on commercial and economic cooperation in IT sector. A number of bilateral cooperation agreements will be held today in the ‘Large Meeting Room’ on the fourth floor of the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office. ICT and Cyber Security Agreement will be signed by ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
