Government offices, courts, banks and financial institutions opened on Monday (April 24) after five consecutive days of Eid holiday. In these few days, 1 crore 1 lakh 59 thousand 786 SIM holders left Dhaka to celebrate Eid ul Fitr and 27 lakh 90 thousand 790 SIM holders entered Dhaka for various reasons. This number has almost halved over the years. Because, in May of last year, more than 72 lakh 5 thousand SIM card holders went outside Dhaka during Eid.
Statistics say that the maximum number of 31 lakh 97 thousand 408 SIM hilders left Dhaka on April 21, the day before Eid. Grameenphone SIM users were at the top who left Dhaka. At this time, 38 lakh 40 thousand 414 SIMs of this operator left Dhaka. Also 35 lakh 87 thousand 54 of Banglalink, 26 lakh 4 thousand 398 of Robi and 1 lakh 27 thousand 920 SIMs of the state owned Teletalk left Dhaka.
It is not only citizens who have left the capital for the Eid holidays. At the same time, a maximum of around 18.5 lakh Banglalink SIM users entered Dhaka.
A maximum of 6 lakh 67 thousand SIMs have arrived in Dhaka’s network in a day. However, as usual, the arrival rate in Dhaka has consistently decreased since the day before the Eid holiday. This picture will start to change from today.
The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar’s Verified Facebook post on Sunday suggests that this is the case. Road Safety Foundation, a voluntary organization working on road safety before Eid, said that about one crore people will leave Dhaka for their homes on Eid. Data analysts consider this figure to be an average estimate as many use multiple SIMs and children in a family and non-mobile users are out of the calculation.
