To celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, 85 lakh 52 thousand 204 SIM holders left Dhaka and 23 lakh 91 thousand 601 SIM holders entered into the city. The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar conveyed this information on his Facebook page on Saturday, the day of Eid. His information covered the number of SIM holders who moved in and out the city between April 8 and 21.
According to the calculations given by the minister, the maximum number of people left Dhaka on the Chand Raat (April 21- the night before Eid). Because on that day the number of SIM holders who left Dhaka was 31 lakh 97 thousand 408. Earlier, 12 lakh 28 thousand 278 SIM holders left Dhaka on Tuesday, 16 lakh 72 thousand 645 SIM holders on Wednesday, and 24 lakh 53 thousand 909 SIM holders on Thursday.
On the contrary, 4 lakh 85 thousand 708 SIM holders entered Dhaka on Friday, 6 lakh 5 thousand 597 on Thursday, 6 lakh 32 thousand 522 on Wednesday and 6 lakh 67 thousand 783 on Tuesday. Statistics say that the country’s largest mobile phone operator Grameen Phone SIM users have left Dhaka the most this time. And Banglalink users have entered Dhaka. As of Chand Raat, maximum 31 lakh 10 thousand 964 SIMs of Grameenphone left Dhaka, but maximum 15 lakh 51 thousand 196 SIMs of Banglalink came in the city.
The previous day, however, Banglalink was ahead in both these lists.
