The National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST felicitated 7 students who achieved success in KIBO-RPC Robotics International Programming Competition organized by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
Former Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Md. Anwar Hossain, was present as the chief guest at the reception held at the National Museum of Science and Technology on Thursday (April 13).
Munir Hasan, Vice President of Bangladesh Science Popularization Association, Professor Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BRAC University were present as special guests.
Director General of National Science and Technology Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury presided over the event. Dr. Mizanul Haque Chowdhury, renowned scientist and expert engineer of MIT, USA, presented the main article on this occasion.
He congratulated the students and said, “Their success is a great pride for Bangladesh. Special guest Munir Hasan said, “Talent is spreaded all over Bangladesh. Governmental and institutional cooperation is needed to unleash that talent.”
Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman said, “This success has proved that the students of Bangladesh are capable of robot programming.” While speaking as the chief guest, the former senior secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md. Anwar Hossain said, “Space is a huge field of knowledge acquisition. Keeping that in mind, a space-based career should be developed. No matter what discipline one studies, creativity must be there. Science mindset should be increased across the country by spreading non-formal science education.” He congratulated the contestants for this success.
He also said, “The success of Bangladeshi students in Zero Robotics is enviable compared to US students.” He expressed optimism that students of Bangladesh will continue their research in the International Space Station in the future.
At the end of the ceremony, the contestants belonging to the team of Enigma System, Sami Sadat, Sanjida Siddiqa, Mullah Md. Saif, Md. Zobair, Md. Hasibul Islam, Md. Raihan Rahman, Tahsinul Haque Dhrubo, Rajin Bin Isha, Saad Noor Mim Bidu were given certificates.
