Under this MoU, the country’s two popular helplines 333 and 16122 will work together to provide land related services easily, quickly and at low cost to all, including the poor people in remote areas of the country. It will play an important role in bringing other digital services related to land to the doorsteps of citizens, including receiving land papers, applying for registration, obtaining land maps and paying land tax online. Apart from this, the two institutions will work jointly in various trainings, participation in meetings/workshops and awareness activities at the district and Upazila levels on land service related matters.
Project Director (Joint Secretary) of a2i Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir said that both parties should work to facilitate the necessary data exchange between the National Helpline 333 and the Ministry of Lands Helpline 16122. Necessary and appropriate steps will be taken in information security to ensure connectivity between the two helplines at the earliest and to facilitate delivery of essential services at the doorsteps of root level service users.
Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain Panir, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Land said, necessary steps will be taken to share and add map-based information presentation API to get a complete understanding of phone calls related to area-based land services. Apart from this, to provide effective and dynamic ground services, a standard operating system will be followed with the consent of both parties and arrangements will also be made to amend it if necessary in the future.
It is to be noted that the National Helpline 333, which is being implemented under the Cabinet Division and Information and Communication Technology Division and managed by UNDP with the support of a2i, is working to implement the central information, service and complaint system of the government.
