The US government has filed a case against the technology giant Apple. Basically, this case has been filed on the charge of monopolizing the smartphone market and removing competitors from the market.
On Thursday (March 21), the United States Department of Justice filed the case in the federal court of the state of New Jersey. It is known that the 16-member lawyer team has been formed by the government to continue the case, where each of the team members is an attorney general of different states of America.
Media BBC reported that an 88-page complaint has been submitted to the court. It said that Apple has committed irregularities and abuse of power in at least five areas of its overall business operations.
It also stated that the methods adopted by Apple to artificially increase the price of its products through market regulation and prevent others from accessing its hardware and software are not legal.
Meanwhile, in response to the case, Apple said that it is not involved in any illegal activities and will fight these ‘false’ allegations with ‘all its might’.
