Evaly CEO Mohammad Rassel was placed on one-day fresh remand today in a case filed with Dhanmondi police station. Besides, A Dhaka court sent Rassel’s wife Shamima Nasrin, the chairman of the e-commerce company, to jail.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the orders when police produced them before the court with a 7-day remand plea.
Earilier, Gulshan Police Station brought them to the court after the end of three days remand in a case filed over allegations of embezzling customers’ money. The investigating officer of the case, Dhanmondi police station SI Nazmul Huda, applied for a seven-day remand along with a request to arrest the two accused.
Shihabul Hossain Sajjad and Tapas Kumar Pal appeared for the state at the hearing. On behalf of the accused, M Moniruzzaman Asad applied for bail seeking cancellation of remand.
