Bangladesh will not only produce or export digital devices in the world but also become an innovation hub to meet up global demand. Therefore, the government is giving utmost importance to the innovation of new products and solutions through research to meet global needs.
That is why, ICT Division of the state is organizing the Digital Devices & Innovation Expo to make a brize between inventors, producers and investors. Some Initiatives have been taken to protect the intellectual property of the inventors and to provide overall assistance in the realization and commercialization of their dreams.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this while addressing a press conference on the occasion of Digital Device & Innovation Expo 2021 at BCC Auditorium, ICT Tower on Wednesday.
He hoped that Bangladesh would soon become a digital device manufacturing hub as well as a digital device inventor to meet global demand.
An academy has been set up to mentor entrepreneurs and innovators, he said. Already 200 entrepreneurs have been assisted. Specialized labs have been created. We are now going to enact the Authority to Innovation Act to inspire research and innovation.
The state minister also said that the ICT department has taken initiative to implement 100 startups by next year in the Shata Barsha, Shata Asha’ campaign to build a self-reliant Bangladesh on the golden jubilee of independence.
Meanwhile, a ‘Made in Bangladesh Strategy Paper’ has been developed to transform the Digital Bangladesh vision into a long-term strategy paper. This strategy paper will be presented in front of the media at this fair.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak also said that the world-famous motor company Hyundai will start investing in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park next week to build electric vehicles.
Bangladesh Computer Samity President Shahid Ul Munir, Expo Organizing Committee Convener Sabbir Rahman Babu, Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Hosne Ara Begum, A2I Joint Director Selina Parveen, Idea Project Deputy Director Kazi Hosne Ara and Startup Bangladesh Managing Director Tina F Jabeen spoke at the press conference.
