e-Cab, the national commercial association of e-commerce traders, has submitted a 16-point proposal to NBR Chairman Abu Henna Md Rahmatul Munim in a pre-budget meeting held at Dhaka. It submitted this proposal at a pre-budget discussion held in the conference room of the National Board of Revenue on Thursday afternoon.
Hearing the proposal, the NBR chairman said that business is expanding in the field of e-commerce. Entrepreneurs are working in isolation. They need a platform where everyone is bound to be documented to facilitate or tax or bring them under VAT. We want to work on this. And I want the help of e-cabs in this regard. He added that only those who apply TO VAT will give VAT. NBR is aware that the rest should not be afraid in any way.

After the meeting, Jahangir Alam Shobhan said that after the talks, the NBR chairman agreed with a few proposals and assured them to reflect it in the upcoming budget. He said it is reasonable to bring e-commerce under IT enable service in particular and withdraw VAT on both e-learning and e-book.
