Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chand said that the use of information technology is being expanded to prevent corruption in land services, and smart technology will be used in applicable cases. All activities are being monitored through the dashboard. This was what the minister said while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on the implementation of corruption-free smart land management in the meeting room of Gopalganj Circuit House.
The minister also emphasized ensuring efficient, transparent and people-friendly land services as well as sincere use of land services by beneficiaries.
Land officials from all levels of Gopalganj district participated in the workshop. Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman and Director General of Land Records and Survey Department Anis Mahmud were present as special guests on the occasion. Md. Abdus Sabur Mandal, Chairman of Land Reforms Board, presented the keynote address. Deputy Commissioner and Collector of Gopalganj Kazi Mahbubul Alam served as the moderator of the workshop.
Meanwhile, Lands Minister Narayan Chandra Chand held an exchange of views with the participants in order to establish good governance in land services at Gopalganj Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner and Collector of Gopalganj Kazi Mahbubul Alam chaired the exchange meeting. The additional secretary (development) of the Ministry of Land Ziauddin Ahmed; officials of the Ministry of Land, Land Reform Board Land Record and Survey Directorate, land officers under the jurisdiction of Gopalganj Collectorate and local zonal settlement office were also present among others.
Then the land minister said, we are working by adopting zero tolerance policy against corruption under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Corruption will be eradicated from the society as well as the state by taking joint initiatives with the people.
We have taken initiatives to include information on land in the school curriculum so that citizens can get some idea about land management right from school. You will directly tell the concerned land officer about any problem related to your land – added the minister.
The minister informed that 32 upazila/circle land offices and union land offices of the country along with Tungipara upazila land office of Gopalganj district and Patgati and Kushli union land offices have been included in the 180 days program of the Ministry of Lands and the first district level exchange meeting in this regard has started from Gopalganj. The minister expressed hope that the land offices of Father of the Nation Memorial Gopalganj selected for the 180-day program will set a unique example in land services.
In the exchange meeting, the land secretary gave a pictorial presentation on the modernization of the land system and the ministry’s 180-day plan. At this time, the secretary said that the Ministry of Lands will soon start providing land services from servers with more capacity. He said that the Ministry of Land has taken activities to improve internet problems and digital security system at the local level.
In the exchange meeting, officials of the Ministry of Lands also gave a visual presentation on the implementation of corrective action, grievance redressal, Right to Information Act and Citizen Charter.
