The admission test results for the academic year 2023-24 in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) were released on Tuesday, March 19 in the afternoon. According to the results published on the website, Adnan Ahmed Tamim, a student of Notre Dame College Dhaka, stood first in the examination. Besides, Habibullah Khan, who secured the second position, also passed HSC from Notre Dame College. And Pabna Edward College student Sudipta Poddar came third.
It is known that Adnan Ahmed Tamim passed SSC with GPA-5 from Chattogram Government High School. After that, he was admitted to Notre Dame College in Class XI. He also got GPA-5 in HSC examination.
According to the notification signed by the admission committee president Professor Dr. Jibon Poddar, the list of preliminarily selected and pending candidates based on the results of the admission test for the undergraduate class in the academic year 2023-24 has been published on the website. Department distribution of candidates according to merit list and preference order is also published on the website.
Document evaluation and health examination will be held on March 27 and 28 for admission to engineering departments and town and regional planning departments belonging to ‘A’ group. Students should report to the admission office at Level-8, ECE Building, West Palashi Campus of BUET by 9:30 AM.
On the other hand, the students initially selected for admission to the architecture department belonging to ‘B’ group have to appear at the admission office of Level-8, ECE Building, West Palashi Campus between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on March 27.
Preliminarily selected candidates are asked to confirm admission by undergoing health examination, payment of admission fee and submission of original certificates. If one does not appear on the scheduled date, one’s admission will be considered cancelled.
In continuation of the last few years, the admission test of BUET was held in two phases. In the first phase, the pre-selection examination was held on February 24. 15 thousand 443 students participated in it. A total of 674 students were selected to participate in the main entrance examination based on the results of the pre-selection examination. 6 thousand 39 of them participated in the main phase of the exam on March 9. 3 thousand 689 people have passed it.
BUET has a total of 1,309 seats for students including the seats reserved for minority ethnic groups in Chattogram Hill Tracts and other areas including three (not more than one seat in any department) and one reserved seat for architecture department in engineering departments and urban and regional planning department.
